Ahmed Jookar

Biography

Ahmed Jookar is an ambitious, and enthusiastic Head of Communications and Media Office of Puntland Ministry of Finance, with vast knowledge and experience in Mass Communication and Media Management in aspects of newspapers, magazines, Radio and television production.

Mr. Ahmed has previously worked with the Ummmaddatimes Newspaper in Bosaso and also worked for Somali Independent media companies such as SBC, ETN, Universal, Rooyal, Jubaland.

In the 2014 Media Association of Puntland (MAP) Elections held in Garowe, he Participated as a candidate for the chairman of the Media Association of Puntland position.

Amidst this, Ahmed was an acting chairperson of the National Union of Somali Organization Journalists (NUSOJ) in 2016, with a mandate of coordinating and managing the election process of the organization leadership board members.

He currently holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the Kenyan Institute of Mass Communications where he acquired practical and theoretical knowledge as far print media and Electronic Media is concerned.
